Photography is not my career, but it is my passion. I have had a camera since I was 10 years old, and I come from a long line of photographers. My great uncle Casimir was a photographer in Hollywood in the 1920s and 1930s (he worked with Jean Harlow, among many others). My dad was his ship’s photographer and filmographer during World War 2, my uncle also was a photographer, my brother is a photographer in his spare time, and happily it looks as though at least one of my nephews wants to keep the “family business” going! My formal training started at Saint Patrick High School in the Photography Club, and continued in college at Northeastern Illinois University. My final series in college was cemeteries.
My primary subjects are nature & landscapes, cityscapes & architecture, and macro (close ups of flowers, along with many other objects). I recently have taken portraits again, gained experience with the High Dynamic Range workflow, and making abstracts. My specialties are black & white and infrared photography.
There is always something new to learn, and a new way to see something. I am always looking for both, and I hope you will enjoy taking the journey with me!
